So that's Christmas over for another year! I hope you all enjoyed it :D Sadly the snow melted away Christmas Eve morning, so no white Christmas for us, but I did get some photos of it before it went, including this one of Archie. He enjoyed the snow immensely bless him XD Last year when it snowed he was about half the size he is now *laughs* he's a mammoth but we love him.

Now Christmas has been and gone I'm hoping to finally get some time to finish a couple of underway projects and start some new ones *bounces*. As soon as they're done I'll be uploading them to my Etsy shop and keeping my fingers crossed!

I've been really slack at updating this lately, things have just been busy busy! I sold a fair few necklaces at a small local Christmas fair, which was nice! It also finally gave me the funds to purchase some really quality materials. I've been aching to work with lampwork and stirling silver since I started, but I wanted to make sure I was really happy with my work before investing in more expensive materials and tackling a higher end market. Now I feel like its almost a new year, and I'm ready to step it up a notch! I bought some stunning beads from the lovely Annelyse Taylor, and I'm now humming and harring over where to purchase my silver from. Any suggestions?

I went bead shopping at one of my favourite shops this weekend, and bought some beautiful things, so expect to see more finished necklaces over the next few weeks :D

I fell in love with a gorgeous green glass pendant, and so I just had to find some beads to go with it. I settled on some beautiful Czech pressed glass beads, Czech faceted rounds and glass seed beads in a slightly darker shade. The finished product is this:

Dream in purple

I've been busy making a few pieces over the last few days, including this piece. I have such a soft spot for purples, so I loved working with these beads! I've also made a companion piece with the same discs and filagree beads, but it is a longer necklace made in a slightly different style. This one is personally my favourite because I love the way it falls when it's being worn, so this is the one I thought I'd share here :)

02: You have mail

I got beads in the post today, which always makes me happy! I really love the colours in these glass discs, they're warm and subtle. I'm looking forward to working with these as there are so many different possibilities regarding
colour combinations. I fear I will be reluctant to part with them when the time comes because I love earthy colourtones.

I've also been making bracelets, including the one below. I had some tigers eye beads to use up but nothing to go with them so I ordered a string of glass beads (see the three at the bottom of the image) and they look lovely together. The colours are really rich and deep; looking at it makes me feel cozy and warm! Just what's needed now Winter is here!

#01: Beginnings

Welcome to my blog! My name is Jess, I'm 23, and I've created this blog to chart the fun I have making jewellery. I have always loved jewellery, particularly neclaces, and yet I often want something a little different to what high street shops have to offer. I started making jewellery a few months ago, but I was just playing about and getting to know what works and what doesn't. When I was happy with the quality of my products I began making jewellery for my friends and family. Now, after much encouragement from those around me, I am hoping to begin selling my products to the public-should they wish to buy them!

What I make generally falls into one of two catergories:
1. Affordable, hightstreet influenced jewellery, with a handmade feel.
2. One off, more high end jewellery- for people who want individual and stylish accessories.

So welcome! I plan to post pictures of materials and works in progress, as well as finished pieces.
